Terms of Service
These Terms govern access to bytora.org, app.bytora.org, and related services offered by Bytora (the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to these Terms.
Eligible use
You must comply with laws applicable where you reside. You agree you are legally able to form a binding contract. If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, you represent authority to bind that organisation.
Your account
You are responsible for credentials, devices and activity under your account. Notify us promptly of unauthorised use. Certain features encrypt data with keys you control; loss of passwords or recovery material may permanently prevent decryption — we cannot recover inaccessible vault data for you.
Licence & restrictions
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and use the Services for personal or internal organisational purposes permitted by law. Unless allowed in writing or by licence terms of open components we publish, do not reverse engineer core security features, circumvent access controls, mine data at scale beyond normal use, or resell the Services without agreement.
Acceptable use
- No unlawful, harassing or harmful activity.
- No introducing malware or probing systems beyond responsible security disclosure.
- No attempting to derive other users’ data or degrade platform stability.
- Respect third-party integrations’ terms when you link external accounts.
Content
You retain rights to materials you submit. Where encryption means we cannot technically read vault content, you remain solely responsible for its legality and your backups.
Third parties
Links or integrations may point to independent services governed by their own terms. Automated price or exchange connectivity depends on upstream availability; interruptions are outside our reasonable control.
Disclaimers
Except where prohibited, the Services are provided “as is”. We disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted. Financial and tax decisions are yours; dashboards and calculators are informational, not personalised professional advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted, Bytora and its suppliers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages or loss of profits, data or goodwill arising from these Terms or the Services. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to paid Services shall not exceed the fees you paid in the twelve (12) months before the claim, except where statute mandates otherwise.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach law or these Terms. You may stop using the Services at any time subject to archival and deletion policies described at account closure.
Changes
We may revise these Terms by posting updates; continued use after material changes constitutes acceptance where allowed. If changes adversely affect materially your rights, where required we will notify you beforehand.
Governing law & disputes
Unless agreed otherwise or mandatory provisions apply where you reside, governing law shall be designated in separate commercial arrangements or default to the jurisdiction of the operator stated in contracting documents. Venue rules follow similarly.
