MyData — Secure Notes

Notes only you can open

End-to-end encrypted notes for your most private information. A 6-digit PIN guards the whole section, every note body is encrypted, and repeated wrong attempts quietly lock things down.

End-to-end encrypted Per-note password option PIN gate + auto-lock Brute-force protection
PIN gate & auto-lock

Nothing is visible until you enter your 6-digit PIN. Close the tab or step away too long and MyData locks itself, clearing anything decrypted from memory.

  • 6-digit PIN before notes appear
  • Auto-lock after inactivity
  • Auto-lock when the tab is hidden
  • Locking wipes the decrypted cache
Session-friendly reopening

Once you unlock a note, you can re-open it without re-entering the password for a short window — until you lock the vault or step away long enough for auto-lock to kick in.

Two levels of privacy, your choice

Pick the protection that fits each note. Use the strongest mode for secrets you never want to lose, and the faster mode for everyday private notes.

Per-note password

Each note gets its own password. Maximum isolation — one note's password can't open any other.

Strong password-derived key Full isolation per note Only recoverable with the password
Fast mode

Encrypted automatically — no second password prompt once you're past the PIN. Great for private notes you open every day.

No extra prompts Perfect for daily notes Lighter isolation than per-note
Brute-force protection

For notes with their own password, repeated wrong attempts temporarily lock the note and show the remaining cooldown — so guessing attacks go nowhere.

Unlock, write, protect

MyData protects you at every layer: access, storage and decryption.

1
Enter your PIN

When PIN is enabled, you verify your 6-digit PIN before anything appears. That unlock lives only in your current browser session — close the tab and it's gone.

2
Write your note

Add a title, body, category and tags. Choose a per-note password for maximum isolation, or let Bytora protect it automatically for a faster flow.

3
Encrypted before it leaves your device

Your note body is sealed with strong encryption directly in your browser. The server only ever stores the scrambled version — never the readable text.

4
Open it again, safely

Notes with their own password prompt you once per session. Fast-mode notes open instantly after the PIN. Too many wrong attempts on a protected note triggers a cooldown to stop guessing attacks in their tracks.

True end-to-end encryption for note bodies

MyData is one of the two modules with full end-to-end encryption. The content of your notes is encrypted on your device before it's sent anywhere — only ciphertext is stored.

A note on per-note passwords: Because no one but you can derive the key from your password, only you can open a per-note note. Keep the password in your password manager — if it's lost, there's no backdoor to recover the content.
Picking a mode: Use a per-note password for your most private information — seed phrases, credentials, recovery notes. Use fast mode for everyday private notes where quick access matters more.

Set up your private notes

Turn on PIN protection, pick the right mode, and store your most sensitive information with confidence.

01
Turn on PIN gate

In MyData settings, set a 6-digit PIN. It's your first line of defence — nothing appears until it's entered, and the unlock only lives in your current browser tab.

02
Create your first note

Tap "New note". Write your title and content. For high-value secrets, choose a per-note password and save it to your password manager straight away.

03
Open with peace of mind

After your PIN, tap any note. Per-note password notes ask once per session; fast-mode notes open instantly. Auto-lock has your back if you walk away.

Best practice: Per-note passwords for your most critical information — seed phrases, credentials, recovery keys. Fast mode for daily private notes where speed matters.
