Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Bytora (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use bytora.org (this marketing site), app.bytora.org, and related services (together, the “Services”). We design for privacy first: encrypt sensitive data where possible and collect only what we need.
Who we are
Bytora provides a private workspace for personal finance, portfolios, exchanges, notes and files. The operator identified on your agreement or billing records is the data controller for application accounts. For visitors to this website, contact details are listed at the end of this page.
Information we process
- Account & product data: When you use the Bytora app, we process information you submit (such as encrypted content metadata, vault data you choose to sync, credentials you connect with appropriate permissions). Much of your sensitive vault content is encrypted on your devices; we aim not to access plaintext that is meant to remain yours alone.
- Website & support: We may receive technical data typical of websites (approximate IP, browser type, device type, referrer) through hosting and analytics you enable, and communications you send to support channels.
- Payments: If you subscribe or pay through a processor, billing is handled according to that processor’s terms; we receive limited transaction records necessary to fulfil your subscription.
How we use information
We use data to operate, secure and improve the Services; authenticate users; communicate about your account; comply with law; enforce our Terms; and protect users from abuse.
Legal bases (where applicable)
Depending on jurisdiction, we rely on contractual necessity (to provide the Services), legitimate interests (security, product improvement proportionate and balanced against your rights), consent where required, and legal obligation.
Retention
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above, backup and security, resolving disputes and meeting legal retention requirements. Vault data deletion features in the product follow the behaviour described there.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We use infrastructure and subprocessors (such as hosting, email, analytics you configure, crash reporting) strictly to run the Services, under appropriate agreements and safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
International transfers
Where personal data crosses borders we use safeguards recognised in your jurisdiction, such as standard contractual clauses, where applicable.
Your choices & rights
Depending on applicable law you may access, rectify, delete, restrict or object to processing, or request portability where technically feasible. You may withdraw consent for optional processing without affecting lawful processing beforehand. Contact us below to exercise these rights.
Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to risk, including encryption in transit, secure handling of secrets, least-privilege infrastructure access, and continual review.
Children
The Services are not directed at children under the age where parental consent is required in their locality. Do not submit children’s personal data unless you have authority to do so.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date reflects the latest revision. Material changes affecting how we handle personal information will be communicated as required.
